RESEARCH AREA

Flight Dynamics and Control Laboratory (FDCL) performs research on the topics closely related to guidance and control systems for aerospace vehicles. Experimental as well as theoretical research is conducted in the areas of aircraft/spacecraft attitude controller design, aircraft vision-based landing and collision avoidance, guidance and control of Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV), missile guidance and control, launch vehicle trajectory optimization, formation flying of multiple UAV or Satellite, etc. Experimental facility include various fixed-wing unmanned aircraft, rotor-craft (quad-rotor & helicopters), and HILS system.

ADVISOR

Prof. Youdan Kim

Dr. Youdan Kim is a Professor in the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at Seoul National University. He received the B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees from Seoul National University in 1983 and 1985, and the Ph.D. degree in Aerospace Engineering from Texas A&M University in 1990, respectively. Prior to joining SNU at 1992, he was a Research Associate at Texas A&M University. He has graduated a total of 34 Ph.D. and 86 M.S. students from 1992 to present (Feb. 2018). He was the director of the Institute of Advanced Aerospace Technology from 2011 to 2013, and He is a Associate Fellow of AIAA, and is a Senior Member of IEEE.
